A device for internally stabilising or stiffening hollow objects or supporting members used in civil engineering, transport vehicles and/or containers walls includes adjacent hollow carrier parts connected together and having honeycomb-forming walls(5) whose longitudinal middle axis(40) or long sides run parallel to the walls of the stiffened object. The inner and outer surfaces of the walls(5) are connected by reinforcing members(34), possibly hollow, whose middle axes(39) intersect the axis(40) of the carrier body(5) at an angle, preferably a right angle. Carrier parts can be produced either by pultrusion or by joining the long edges of a textile fibre material draped around a former.
