Solar energy installation for pitched roof

The solar energy installation has a number of solar panel elements (6), positioned on either side (9, 10) of the roof ridge (7). The solar panel elements act as solar collectors, photovoltaic modules, or water heating elements and are coupled together along the roof ridge via linkages allowing the weight of the panels on either side of the ridge to be counter-balanced, with each panel lying parallel to the roof surface. Pref. the panels on the south side of the roof are provided by solar collectors, while those on the north side of the roof are provided by storage batteries, high capacity capacitors and/or water storage or heat exchanger elements.
