Idling control for IC engine

The IC engine has an idling control valve (31) in a bypass to the main throttle valve (20) in the inlet manifold. Alternately the idling control operate son the main throttle valve. The fuel tank (40) has a fuel vapour recovery filter (41) through which an airstream is flushed when the engine is at idling speed. This fuel enriched airstream is fed into the inlet manifold downstream of the main throttle valve. The filter flushing airstream provides a controlled air inlet into the inlet manifold. This provides a stand-by idling speed control, with the engine speed further adjusted by varying the fuel injection rate (70) and the timing angle. The extra fuel taken into the engine through the fuel enriched flushing airstream is monitored by exhaust monitors which maintain the optimum fuel-air mixture into the engine.
