HIGH CHROM & HIGH NITROGEN TWO PHASE STAINLESS STEEL WITH EXCELLENT HOT WORKING PROPERTIES

A duplex stainless steel having an austenite-ferrite duplex phase matrix is provided which contains 24-26wt% of Cr, 2.5wt% of Mo, up to 5wt% of W and up to 30ppm of S. The value of the correlation equation of W and Mo(wt%Mo+0.73xwt%W) ranges from 4 to 5.3, the equivalent ratio of Cr to Ni ranges from 2.2 to 2.5 and the equivalents of Ni ranges from 12 to 14. The duplex stainless steel having high Cr and N is excellent in oxidation resistance at high temperature and hot workability.
