PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoelectric conversion element with high conversion efficiency and a manufacturing method thereof.SOLUTION: There is provided a photoelectric conversion element which includes a first electrode; a second electrode; a photoelectric conversion layer; and a first layer. The photoelectric conversion layer is formed between the first electrode and the second electrode. The first layer which contains at least a first metal oxide is formed between the first electrode and the photoelectric conversion layer. The first layer includes plural orientation planes. In the plural orientation planes, defining the length of one orientation plane as L1; and the thickness of the first layer extending along a first direction from the first electrode to the second electrode as L2, there are at least one or more orientation planes which satisfy a relationship of L1>L2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
