摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformize the load distribution on the tooth of a pinion of a spur gear transmission apparatus for driving a roller of a dehydration press, a calender, etc., in paper-making industry and improve the transmission efficiency. SOLUTION: This spur gear transmission apparatus for driving a roller is provided with an external gear ring 5 fixed to an end of a roller 1 supported on a supporting block 4 through a self-aligning bearing 3. A pinion 6 meshing with the ring 5 is supported on the supporting block 4 through a self-aligning bearing 7. A driving shaft 8 is laterally extended relative to the pinion 6 and a notch 22 is formed on an end 9 of the shaft 8 at a side rotatably connected to the pinion 6. An additional supporting bearing 23 of the pinion 6 is placed in the notch 22 to uniformize the load distribution of the pinion tooth over the width of the tooth.
