The reverse control device of an automobile has a function of maintaining a brake state during a predetermined time period, when a restart operation is performed after stopping, to thereby prevent the automobile body from being reversed. The reverse control device comprises: a brake operation state sensing switch; a running speed sensor in which a pulse signal outputted in accordance with the running speed of the automobile is varied; an accelerating pedal operation sensing switch; an operation controller for generating a driving signal which maintains a braking operation until a restart operation is executed, in the case where a brake pedal is operated and the automobile is stoped; a switch in which an operation state is varied in accordance with the output signals of the brake operation state sensing switch and the operation controller; first and second solenoid valves for controlling the brake oil pressure acted as front/rear wheel cylinders; and a master cylinder for generating the brake oil pressure through first and second oil pressure discharge holes.
