PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject adhesive composition excellent in the final paste viscosity stability by substituting carrier starch in the carrier phase by tapioca fibers, corn fibers, polyvinyl alcohol, etc. SOLUTION: First, a mixture composed of water, tapioca fibers, corn fibers, carrier starch, and 0-5wt.% of polyvinyl alcohol and/or polyvinyl acetate is heated to form a water-based mixture. Secondly, an caustic alkali is mixed with the above mixture followed by addition of water and then cooling the resultant mixture. Separately, a mixture composed of water, a boron-contg. compound and starch is heated to form another water-based mixture. Finally, both kinds of mixture mentioned above are combined with each other to obtain the objective starch-based adhesive composition composed of the carrier phase and suspension phase. |
