The connector has two parts (1, 50) with rectangular shells (10, 55 respectively), of which one (10) fits inside the other (55). The two parts have mating coding rods clamping recesses outside the shell (40). The part with the outer shell has contacts (7, 8). The outer shell has a single ledge (23) on one of its longer walls (13) and two ledges (25, 26) on the opposite wall (15), the two shorter walls (14, 16) each have a single ledge (24, 27). The inside of the other shell is shaped to receive these ledges.
