Air cleaning plant in which pollutants are removed by direct contact with water. The pollutants react exothermally with water so that, although most remain as solutes in the water, some polluted water vapour is produced and carried along with the air, the mixture then passes into a cooler where it is condensed and retained. Also claimed is the cleaning process.
