Pharmaceutical compositions for the treatment of depressive disorders

A method for treating a depressive disorder which comprises administering to a patient in need thereof a therapeutically effective amount of a combination of (i) hydroxyzine, an individual optical isomer thereof, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and (ii) at least one therapeutic substance which is a serotonin uptake inhibitor, an individual optical isomer thereof or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
