PRODUCTION OF FLEXIBLE POLYURETHANE FOAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a flexible polyurethane foam having high water absorptivity at a low cost. SOLUTION: A polyol containing a metallic salt of an organic acid having hydrophilicity and/or its polymer is used in 20-100wt.% of the polyol and the resultant polyurethane foam is compressed to 5-80% of the original thickness when expanding a composition consisting essentially of the polyol, an isocyanate and water, and producing a flexible polyurethane foam.
