<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a water-base ink compsn. for ink jet recording improved in durability, storage stability, delivery stability, and setting quality by incorporating a water-dispersible or -soluble colorant, a wetting agent, a surfactant, and a metal corrosion inhibitor comprising a carboxylated natural or synthetic polymer compd. (salt) into the same. SOLUTION: This compsn. having a pH of 9-11 is prepd. by dissolving or dispersing a water-dispersible or -soluble colorant, a wetting agent, 0.01-3.0wt.% surfactant, and 0.0001-1.0wt.% metal corrosion inhibitor comprising a carboxylated natural or synthetic polymer compd. (salt) [e.g. a carboxylic-acid- modified lignin sulfonate or a (meth)acrylic acid-, itaconic acid-, or maleic acid-derived (co)polymer] in water. The compsn. is caused to fly as droplets, each of 160ng-10wt., from minute outlet ports of a 20-60μm-size by thermal or mechanical energy at a speed of 5-20m/s and is caused to adhere to a recording material with a Stoeckigt sizing degree of 3 or higher.</p> |
