PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an aqueous textile finishing agent capable of providing soft fibers, assuming a natural gloss and capable of preventing yellowing by mixing a shellac with a specific nonionic surfactant as a plasticizer and further mixing a specified lanolin derivative therewith. SOLUTION: This aqueous textile finishing agent is obtained by mixing a shellac with one or more nonionic surfactants selected from the group consisting of sugar hydroxyalkyl ethers and/or sugar esters of fatty acids, e.g. maltitol hydroxylauryl ether as a plasticizer at (2:1) to (1:5) weight ratio of the shellac to the nonionic surfactants and further mixing a lanolin derivative represented by the formula [R is a lanolin residue; X and Y are each an integer satisfying 10<=(x)<=200 and 3<=(y)<=48], e.g. polyoxyethylene polyoxypropylene lanolin so as to provide (1:1) to (3:1) weight ratio of the lanolin derivative to the shellac. |
