PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a display quality of a reflection type liquid crystal display device. SOLUTION: Directions 3, 4 of liquid crystal inclination are controlled to be reversed to directions of diagonal electric fields on edge parts of a reflection type electrode 10, and polarizing axes of a polarizing plate on incident and exit sides are taken to form 45 degrees to them. Orientation boundaries of the liquid crystal controlled by the four sides of the reflection electrode 11 are fixed to orientation control window 11 which is an electrode-absent area of a transparent electrode provided along diagonal lines of the reflection electrode, and thus, the entire orientation is stabilized. |
