PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformize coating weight at the surface and rear surface of a steel strip and prevent its dispersion and to reduce total coating weight, by inhibiting the vibrations occurring in the steel strip attendant on the traveling of the steel strip in plating bath equipment and stabilizing the pass line of the steel strip in a gas wiping part. SOLUTION: The geometrical moment of inertia Iz (unit,×10<-4> m<4> ) of the cross sections of arm hangers 9a, 9b for support rolls in bath with respect to the horizontal neutral axis is regulated so that it satisfies Iz>=0.70 (×10<-4> m<4> ). Further, the relation between the distance L1 (m), from the points of application of the reaction force received by support rolls 5a, 5b in bath from the steel strip to the fixed parts of the arm hangers for the support rolls, and the above Iz (unit,×10<-4> m<4> ) is regulated so that L1 <=0.85+0.5×Iz(m) is satisfied.
