PREVENTION OF PUTREFACTION OF COOLANT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preventing the putrefaction of a coolant, enabling to reduce and remove putrefactive bacteria causing a malodor from a used coolant and further enabling to remarkably improve effects for preventing the bleeding of the putrefactive bacteria and the regeneration of the malodor after the removal of the putrefactive bacteria. SOLUTION: This method for preventing the putrefaction of a coolant comprises adding an oxidizing agent such as hydrogen peroxide or air containing ozone to a used coolant and subsequently heating the coolant in a closed reaction tube in the temperature range of 3-100 deg.C under a pressure of 1.02-300 atm.
