A clevis-type pipe hanger has a yoke member and U-strap attached by a clevis bolt. The U-strap has a longitudinally-extending indentation on the inn er side thereof forming a protruding rib on the outer side of the U-strap along the roun ded portion of the U-strap. The yoke has indentations in its outer side at the bends in the yoke, forming protrusions on the inner side of the yoke. The indentations increa se the load-carrying capacity of the hangers.
