<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a depolymn. product of anε-caprolactam polymer to be easily repolymerized without purifying the depolymerized product by bringing a segmentedε-caprolactam polymer into contact with a moltenε-caprolactam in an inert atmosphere. SOLUTION: 100 pts.wt.ε-caprolactam polymer segmented into a max. size of 1-10 mm is depolymerized by bringing it into a sufficient contact with 1-20 pts.wt. moltenε-caprolactam in an inert atmosphere at a temp. of 69-269 deg.C, pref. 90-250 deg.C. Without being purified, the resultant depolymn. product is repolymerized in the presence of a polymn. catalyst (e.g. an alkali or alkaline earth metal, or a hydride, hydroxide, or oxide thereof) in an amt of 1-50 wt.% ofε-caprolactam. Thus, a polyamide formed mainly fromε-caprolactam is enabled to be efficiently recycled and a repolymn. product having about the same physical properties as those of a polymer before depolymn. can be obtd.</p> |
