Car door lock with electric motor drive for pawl release

The electric motor (6) is driven one way for movement and the opposite way to activate the child safety lock (13) until deactivated by the drive element, i.e. a wormgear wheel (5), in its neutral setting. The element can be mechanically activated and the element is allotted both the opening lever (11) and the safety lever, using tangs (7,14) to adjust the two levers as required. The opening lever tripped by the tang lies on one side of the gearwheel and the safety lever on the other side to respond to the tang. These two tangs can register or be offset from one another and the opening or safety lever has a grip lug (12) used to lock out one or other tang and partly control the motor (3) at the same time. The opening lever (1) is permanently coupled to the pawl lever (9) or is integrated with this, the pawl lever in turn working reciprocally with the main locking pawl.
