The door handle (5) is joined to the door by a multiple joint arrangement such as a four-joint system composed of drive lever (6) and coupling lever (7). The drive lever is a two-arm lever with a vertical pivot axis (10), the first arm (8) engaging the handle. The second arm (9) forms a service surface (16) for the car user and the outside of the drive lever runs flush with the door exterior when the handle is in its passive, non-use setting (N). Adjuster unit (3) is used to switch the handle from its passive into its opening position (O) under outside power. The handle reaches opening setting off a signal from the outside power device, e.g. by a switch arranged near the handle. In the four joint system, the adjuster unit (30) works on the drive lever via belt (31) on a pulley (32) arranged on an extension of the pivot axis.
