PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition and a rubber roll excellent in tensile strength and elongation. SOLUTION: There is provided a crosslinkable rubber composition prepared by compounding a rubber stock with, as essential components, 100 pts.wt. ethylene/propylene copolymer having an ethylene content of 60 wt.% or above and a Mooney viscosity (at 100 deg.C) of 70 or above, 20-40 pts.wt., in total, zinc oxide and methacrylic acid present in a mixing ratio of 1/2 to 2/1, reinforcing furnace carbon black, and an organic peroxide. |
