PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a near infrared absorbing coloring matter scarcely causing the coloring in a visible region and capable of manifesting a high absorption in a near infrared region. SOLUTION: This difluorotin naphthalocyanine is represented by the formula and has the peaks at 8.5 deg., 13.9 deg., 14.6 deg. and 25.8 deg. Bragg angles 2θ(±0.3 deg.) in an X-ray diffraction pattern with Cu-Kαradiation.
