The notched section of the arrow is fitted to the tubular body (4) by an intermediate component with male (10) and female (8) ends. The female end has a surface portion which aligns concentrically with the arrow body. The male end is smaller than the body's inner diameter, so a sleeve (16) is fitted over the joint to hold the intermediate component in position while its adhesive is polymerizing, and is removed afterwards. The sleeve is made from an elastic material, and the intermediate component is of aluminum or a hard plastic.
