The device comprises a cylindrical deformable sleeve (3) manufactured, typically, from thin section stainless steel with inner surface coated with rubber sealant. The sleeve encloses the broken pipe (1) with edges (4,5) located at the level of the pipe break. Each sleeve side is fitted with plates (9,10) equipped with stirrup (20) and wing (19) closing and gripping elements. The sleeve is secured by tightening the bolts (17) on the stirrup arms (15).
