PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable even an unskilled person to perform welding smoothly without injuring his eyes by positioning the tip end of an electrode easily and quickly at an arc generating position. SOLUTION: In the electrode holder of a welding equipment equipped with a cylindrical body 11 covering an electrode 4 that is capable of generating an arc between the electrode and the weld zone W1 of a workpiece, a guide is provided in the cylindrical body 11, a guide which comes into contact with the reference face (Ws, 9a) near the weld zone W1 of the workpiece W, which is capable of positioning the tip end 5 of the electrode 4 at a position where an arc is generated between the tip end 5 and the weld zone W1, and which, after the positioning, can slide on the reference face (Ws, 9a) while maintaining the positional relation of the two (5, W1).
