PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an efficiency in accordance with the load condition in a room and permit air-conditioning operation under the good condition of comfortable property by a method wherein a first control means, controlling the capacity of a compressor by a set value, and a second compressor control means, changing the operating frequency of the compressor into a value determined by a compressor operating amount determining means, are provided. SOLUTION: The opening degree of an indoor side expansion valve is detected (step S1) and, further, the detected opening degree is decided whether the detected opening degree is lower than an opening degree, in which an indoor load is reduced and the indoor side expansion valve is considered that the opening degree is choked, or not (step S2) and when the detected opening degree is larger than a set opening degree, a compressor is controlled by a first compressor control means (step S3). When the detected opening degree is smaller than the set opening degree, whether all of indoor side expansion valves are checked or not is decided. When all of the expansion valves are not checked, the step is returned to the detection of the opening degree (step S1) and when all of the expansion valves are checked, the compressor is controlled by the second compressor control means (step S5). According to this method, the air conditioner can be operated at the optimum evaporating or condensing temperature in accordance with the load condition in the rooms and the compressor can be operated efficiently with the optimum number of rotation of the compressor. |
