PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a for cleaning tool residual toner quantity sensor capable of cleaning a detection surface of a sensor requiring little cost. SOLUTION: When a film on an open part of the toner cartridge 22 is stripped, the toner successively falls from the above from an end part 2403A on one side to the end part 2403B on the other side in the lengthwise direction of the toner containing space 2403 and replenished. This cleaning tool 52 for residual toner quantity sensor is composed of a diaphragm member 54, a contact member 56, the toner receptacle member 58, and a weight member 60. The diaphragm member 54 is disposed in freely swingingly centering a rotary shaft center located in extending sideways. The toner receptacle member 58 is provided near to the one hand of end part on the diaphragm member 54, and the contact member 56 supported by the toner receptacle member 58, is composed so as to slide on the detection surface 4202 of the residual toner sensor 42 by the swinging diaphragm member 4.
