PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excellent method for controlling weeds by which weeds in a wheat or a barley field are controlled. SOLUTION: This herbicidal method comprises treating soil or weeds in a wheat field or a barley field with a herbicidal composition containing a 2- chloro-4-fluoro-5-(4-methyl-5-trifluoromethyl-3-pyridazinon-2-yl)pheno xyacetic acid ester derivative and one kind selected from the group consisting of 2,4- difluoro-2-(α,α,α-trifluoro-m-tolyloxy)nicotinanilide, 3-(4-isopropylphenyl)-1,1- dimethylurea, (RS)-2-(4-chloro-2-methylphenoxy)propionic acid or its salt, (4- chloro-2-methylphenoxy)acetic acid or its salt, methyl 5-(2,4-dichlorophenoxy)-2- nitrobenzoate and 1-methylheptyl 4-amino-3,5-dichloro-6-fluoro-2-pyridyloxyacetate as active ingredients.
