PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent state transition due to malfunction in electronic equipment that shifts a different state by a prescribed input operation, in a control circuit for the electronic equipment and in a controlling method for the electronic equipment. SOLUTION: A suspend/resume signal generation circuit 145 has a suspend/ resume signal generating part 151 which generates a suspend/resume signal that becomes a low level when a suspend/resume button 110 is pressed down and a suspend/resume signal controlling part 152 which limits the low level period of the suspend/resume signal generated by the part 151 to less than a fixed period T0 between the suspend/resume button 110 and a chip set 139 which realizes a suspend/resume function by pressing down the button 110.
