POLYESTER FIBER/RUBBER ADHESIVE AND ADHESION TREATING METHOD OF POLYESTER FIBER AND RUBBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fiber/rubber adhesive excellent in adhesion capable of effecting the heat treatment of polyester fibers in the region of low temperatures, and an adhesion treating method of fibers and rubbers by treating polyester fibers in one bath with this adhesive. SOLUTION: A fiber/rubber adhesive comprises (A) an aqueous mixture solution of a resorcin/formaldehyde initial condensate, (B) an epoxy resin water dispersion, and (C) a compound at a weight ratio of the solids content of (A) to (B) of 100:15 to 100:120 and at a weight ratio of the solids content of (B) to (C) of 100:0.5 to 100:10. Further, an adhesion treating method comprises impregnating polyester fibers with this adhesive, then heat treating the resulting polyester fibers at 210-230 deg.C, embedding the polyester fibers thus treated in an unvulcanized rubber, and vulcanizing the unvulcanized rubber to integrate the polyester fibers and the rubber.
