MATTE COATED PAPER FOR GRAVURE PRINTING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a matte coated paper for gravure printing having a low white paper glossiness, a high opacity, a high rigidity and a high printed surface glossiness, a low ratio of missing dots at the time of the gravure printing and excellent printability in the coated paper for the gravure printing. SOLUTION: The characteristic of this matte coated paper for gravure printing is to contain a delaminated clay having 4.0-20μm volume-distribution average particle diameter as a pigment in an amount of 30-90 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of the pigment and a copolymer latex as an adhesive in an amount of 3-10 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of the pigment and has <=45% white paper glossiness in the coated paper for the gravure printing provided with a coating layer containing the pigment and the adhesive on a base paper.
