PURPOSE: Cleansing products provide effective cleansing using low, and hence less irritating, levels of surfactant while providing superior conditioning benefits. CONSTITUTION: A disposable, single use personal care cleansing and conditioning product comprises: (A) a water insoluble substrate comprising a nonwoven sheet of fibers selected from the group consisting of rayon fibers, cellulose fibers, polyester fibers, and mixtures thereof; (B) a lathering surfactant component impregnated into the substrate, which surfactant component further comprises from about 0.5% to about 12.5% by weight of the substrate; and (C) a water soluble conditioning agent component impregnated into the substrate separately from the lathering surfactant component, which water soluble conditioning agent component comprises from about 2% to about 99% by weight of the substrate, wherein the weight ratio of the lathering surfactant component to the water soluble conditioning agent component is less than about 8:1; and wherein the cleansing product deposits greater than about 2.5μg/cm¬2 of the water soluble conditioning agents to the surface of the skin or hair, and wherein the product is substantially dry.
