PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lessen the need for skill relating to production work by disposing a deflection holding means for changing a deflection quantity according to the tension applied on an optical fiber by giving rise to deflection to the optical fiber. SOLUTION: An elastic member 40 is brought into contact with the flank of the resin peeling portion 14e of the optical fiber 14 and is brought into contact with the inside wall surface of a second hole 31d. The elastic member 40 is so disposed as to impart the deflection to the optical fiber 14 in the portion where the optical fiber advances into the second hole 31d from the opening of the hole 31d and arrives at a juncture. If a difference occurs between the temperature of the working environment when an optical module is used and the temperature when the module is assembled, thermal deformation arises at the respective parts of the optical module. This deformation exerts the tension different from the tension when the module is assembled on the optical fiber 14. The elastic member 40 is elastically deformed by receiving force in the contact portion with the optical fiber 14 according to the tension that the optical fiber 14 receives. As a result, the deflection quantity of the optical fiber 14 changes reversibly and, therefore, the tension my be relieved. |
