PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an antimicrobial acrylonitrile-based fiber excellent in antimicrobial property and free from the loss of the effect, discoloring and coloring in a processing step by including a polyphenol and further a specific quaternary ammonium salt into an anionic dye-dyeable acrylonitrile-based fiber. SOLUTION: An anion dye-dyeable acrylonitrile-based fiber is brought into contact with a mixture of a polyphenol composed of tea catechin with a quaternary ammonium salt represented by the formula [R1, R2, (R3)2N]+ X- (R1 and R2 are each an 8-18C alkyl; R3 is a 1-5C alkyl; X- is a halogen ion, an organic acid anion or an oxo-acid ion) or the formula [R4-CONH-R5-N(R6, R7)-R8]+ Y- [R4 is an 8-12C alkyl or alkenyl; R5 is an 8-18C alkylene; R6 and R7 are each a 4-5C alkyl; R8 is a 1-5C (hydroxy)alkyl; Y- is a halogen ion, NO3-, CH3SO4-, C2H5SO4- or the like] and then subjected to steam relaxation treatment to provide the objective antimicrobial acrylonitrile-based fiber. |
