TONE SIGNAL TRANSMITTER USING ATM SWITCH

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the traffic quantity of a tone signal cell switched by an asynchronous transfer mode ATM switch with a simple configuration. SOLUTION: This tone signal transmitter is provided with a tone generator 1, that generates only a voiced cell from a voiced tone signal, gives the voiced cell to an ATM switch 3 and generates no silent cell from a silent tone signal and with an idle generator 5 that generates an idle cell and inserts it to a cell position corresponding to the silent cell at the tone generator 1, with respect to the tone signal cells which have passed through the ATM switch.
