<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a field emission type electron emitting element, having high electron emitting efficiency and high pixel density and capable of easily manufacturing. SOLUTION: An electrode layer 3, having a conductive function and a function as a catalyst material for carbon nanotube, is formed on a support 2, and an insulating layer 4 is formed on the electrode layer 3. The insulating layer 4 is formed with pores 5 continued in only one direction, and the electrode layer 3 is exposed by only 10 nm-1μm of width, and a carbon nanotube 6 as an emitter is grown up in the exposed electrode layer 3 and arranged in a fixed direction. A fine field emission type electron emitting element can thereby be manufactured easily.</p> |
