<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for correcting a density of a recording apparatus which can properly correct the density in every gradation without complicating a control circuit and can exhibit a maximum productivity. SOLUTION: This method comprises a step of recording to a recording medium by a specified halftone density, a step of measuring a recording density of the recorded result of the halftone density by a densitometer 15 and changing a set value of a relative speed so that the relative speed between a recording head 17 and the recording medium is increased when the measured recording density is higher than a target density and the relative sped is decreased when the measuring recording density is lower than the target density, a step of recording to the recording medium by at least two halftone densities after changing the set value of the relative speed, and a step of updating an input data density conversion table for converting input data so that the recording density of the recorded result nearly agrees with the target.</p> |
