PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a novel ethylene 1-butene copolymer capable of giving a polypropylene resin composition which affords an injection molding product excellent in rigidity and shock resistance as well as without surface gloss and without generating substantially a flaw mark. SOLUTION: This random copolymer has a weight ratio in a range of 80/20 to 60/40 of a structure unit derived from ethylene to a structure unit derived from 1-butene wherein a nonconjugated diene is copolymerized in 0.01-4 mole % if necessary. In the ethylene/1-butene random copolymer, complex shear viscosityη1 when measuring at angular velocity of 0.1 (rad/sec) in the condition of a temperature at 230 deg.C is not less than 2,000 (Pa.s) and the value which is obtained by dividing the complex shear viscosityη1 by complex shear viscosityη2 when measuring at angular velocity of 100 (rad/sec) of a corn plate in the condition at the same temperature is not less than 2, and further in the copolymer of the nonconjugated diene, the complex shear viscosityη1 is not less than 4,000 (Pa.s) and theη1/η2 ratio is not less than 4.
