PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data communication unit that is used for a small-sized inexpensive unit to easily transmits/receives data and can stably attain data communication, without being limited about the mounting position of a data transmitter and of the distance between a data receiver and the data transmitter. SOLUTION: The data communication unit is provided with the data transmitter 1 that has an electrode 10 placed, in a way such that a human body can be touched, an oscillation section 20 that generates an AC signal, a modulation section 30 that modulates a signal generated by the oscillation section 20 on the basis of data to be transmitted, and a voltage application section 40 that applies a voltage, corresponding to the modulation signal modulated by the modulation section 30 between the electrode 10 and a circuit ground, a data receiver 2 that has two electrodes 50, 60 placed so as to face the human body, a voltage detection section 70 that detects the voltage between the two electrodes 50 and 60, and a demodulation section 80 that demodulates a voltage fluctuation, on the basis of the modulation signal detected by the voltage detection section 70. |
