PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine tool and its control method capable of improving productivity by working precisely at high speed. SOLUTION: In the case of working a precise screw, a control unit part 41 defines the moving position of a work piece 2 and that of a tool 3 at each prescribed rotation angle of a motor 11 for rotating a spindle through the use of the first positional data arithmetic program 46a, stores it in the first position data table memory 47a and outputs it to a work piece feeding control circuit 33 and a tool feeding circuit 23 as a work piece position command signal and a tool position command signal every prescribed rotation angle. In the case of working a screw of low precision, the part 41 defines the moving position of the piece 2 and that of the tool 3 at each prescribed time interval through the use of the second positional data arithmetic program 46b, stores it in the second position data table memory 47b and outputs it to the circuit 33 and the circuit 23 as the work piece position command signal and the tool position command signal every prescribed time interval. |
