PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-weight, inexpensive axle housing with flexibility in the shape for a rear axle or front axle supporting the load of a vehicle and transmitting the drive force. SOLUTION: In the axle housing for enclosing and protecting an axle shaft and supporting the load of a vehicle, a housing main body 10 at the center is formed of cast iron, tube ends 11 on both sides of the main body 10 is formed of steel material, and connecting parts 12 of the main body 10 and the tube ends 11 are connected by a means of firmly connecting different materials integrally. Therefore, the connecting parts 12 between the housing main body 10 made of cast iron and the tube ends 11 made of steel can be firmly connected integrally, increasing the strength of the axle housing. At the same time, the light-weight, inexpensive axle housing with flexibility in the shape can be provided. |
