<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an occupant detecting system capable of judging the presence and a sitting state of an occupant with simple and compact constitution. SOLUTION: This occupant detecting system 10 is provided with a transmitting antenna 14 and plural receiving antennas 16, and these antennas are arranged in a seat back 66. The occupant detecting system 10 transmits a radio wave from the transmitting antenna 14, and receives the radio wave by the respective receiving antennas 16. A processing circuit part 20 detects amplitude of the received radio wave. A judging computer 28 obtains data corresponding to a distance between the receiving antennas 16 and the occupant by comparing respective received radio wave amplitudes with respective reference amplitudes, and judges the presence and the sitting state of the occupant on a front passenger seat 54 on the basis of these plural distance data and installing position data on the receiving antennas 16.</p> |
