PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To raise residual property of a pyrithione in the oral cavity and to effectively prevent dental plaque being a causative agent of periodontal diseases, etc. SOLUTION: This composition for the oral cavity comprises (A) a pyrithione, (B) sodium carboxymethylcellulose and (C) one or more kinds of binders selected from the group consisting of hydroxyethyl cellulose, xanthan gum, sodium alginate and sodium polyacrylate.
