PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor essentially comprising amorphous silicon, in which photodegraded potential depends on the wavelength exposed previously. SOLUTION: A part of an electrophotographic light-accepting member essentially comprising amorphous silicon is subjected to photodegradation by light, including at least 600 nm and higher and 700 nm, and lower wavelength range, and the dark potential is measured in the processes of provisory exposure, electrification and potential measurement for obtaining a potential V1 in the photodegraded part, the potential V2 in a part which not photodegraded, andΔV3=V1-V2 defined as the degraded potential. In the light-accepting member, the degraded potentialΔV3 depends on the wavelength of previous exposure andΔV3 changes from positive to negative, with increase in the previous exposure wavelength.
