PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size of an ink jet recorder by eliminating the need for providing a waste ink absorber on the printer side while allowing for the lifetime of the body even when a plurality of different inks are discharged using an identical discharge mechanism. SOLUTION: A waste ink absorber 20 for suction holding waste ink discharged from a suction recovery processor is divided into a plurality of sections. The divided waste ink absorber 20 is a part of an ink tank 9 and touches at least one other divided waste ink absorber 20. Ink containing capacity of the waste ink absorber 20 is determined by multiplying the ink capacity of an ink containing section by an ink evaporation residual rate (β<1). |
