The present invention relates to a manoeuring device in the form of a gear shift assembly (1) for manoeuvring an automatic transmisson for a motor vehicle. The manoeuvring device comprises a fix ed gear lever (3) that is adjustable relative to the gear console between a number of gear positions, comprising driving position, neutral position, reverse position and parking position (d, N, R, P), where an electrically controlled gear lock (5) which is arranged to lock respective release the lever depending on certain first conditons at certain of said positions, namely neutral positon (N) and parking position (P), is a part. The manoeuvring devi ce also comprises a conrol unit that is arranged to control the gear shift lock (5) in dependence on certain other conditions in order to lock and release the lever, respectively, where at least one of said other conditions is the vehicle's velocity. |
