PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set behavior of a vehicle relative to a steering wheel steering of a driver to a prescribed behavior at all times in an electric power steering device for an automobile assisting the steering wheel steering by the control of an electric motor 22. SOLUTION: This electric power steering device is provided with an assist control part 51 multiplying a detection valueξof a torque sensor 41 by a gain Ka and setting it as a controlled variable, a yaw rate feedback control part 52 calculating a target yaw rate from a steering wheel steering torque u and determining the controlled variable based on the deviation between the target yaw rate and actual yaw rateψs, and a motor control part 53 controlling the electric motor 22 by the controlled variable obtained by adding up the respective controlled variables.
