PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data receiver that can enhance a processing rate of the system as a whole. SOLUTION: The data receiver 10 that receives data in the forward phase in the ECP(extended capabilities port) mode, is provided with an I/F side buffer 12c that stores the received data, a memory 18 that stores the data transferred from the I/F side buffer, a DMA(direct memory access) controller 14 that transfers the data stored in the I/F side buffer to the memory 18 by means of direct memory access, and an I/F control section that instructs the DMA controller 14 to start DMA transfer when detecting the end of the forward phase.
