PURPOSE: An air foil bearing is provided to simplify the manufacturing by using bumpers in the shape of tetragon and expand the contact area between the bumpers and air foils for increasing the supporting strength. CONSTITUTION: An air foil bearing includes a housing, a plurality of bumpers(35) formed in the housing and having sectional surfaces in the shape of tetragon as a whole, and one or more air foils(32) of which a fixed end(33) is fixed to the inside of the housing between the plurality of bumpers and a free end(34) is extended over the bumpers, wherein a surface of the bumper contacting the air foils form a curved line.
